Karlene and I are in another play.
About a year ago, Karlene came home and made my day. She asked, "How would you like to be in a play with me?" Of course, being the stage ham that I am, I replied with a resounding YES! So, we starred in our first play together in "You Know the Old Slaying." It was a murder mystery with total audience interaction. Karlene did FANTASTIC in her first ever stage appearance, and more importantly began to share in a love that I have had for years: the love of theatre.
I was so surprised this year when Karlene asked if I wanted to do it again. Of course, I couldn't refuse even though this time of year is INCREDIBLY busy with many, many other things. So, we both said yes to "Insane with Power!" This play kicks so much butt, and we get to play patients in an insane asylum who think they have superhero powers. Simply put, it is hillarious!! It is nearly impossible to get through the entire play without laughing at one another, but the best part about the play is being on stage with Karlene again. I love sharing the stage with her, and I hope we continue to do this together well into the future.
If you are in town, you still have two days to catch the show: Dec 19th & 20th. Starts at 7pm and costs $10 each.

Hi, Adam! I found this blog entry thanks to a Google Alert. As the author of said play ("Insane With Power"), I'm really thrilled that you guys are having fun. We had a blast too, doing the original premiere, and I found myself biting the inside of my cheek a lot onstage. And hey, you're a fellow Hoosier! Who knew? (I'm writing this a few miles away from the Purdue campus.) Want to hear something else that's cool? You guys apparently have 2 married couples in your cast (Director/Dim Bulb, and Speed Freak/Mental), right? Well, so did we! (Brainstorm/Assistant Director, and Dim Bulb/Lois.) Wish we could be there to see the show in person. Hope your first weekend went well, and break a leg with your last two performances!
Please please please bring a tape of this with you when you come to visit Indiana this summer! This poster is just about the best thing ever!!! :) I'm going to print it out and put it on our fridge. :)
